ADMINISTRATION 

  • This Week
    • I (Nolan Ming) worked on the upcoming budget.
    • The Finance Committee met on Tuesday, 4/30, @ 4:00 to review budget proposals for the upcoming fiscal year. 
    • A Bobby Ray & Potter Lane Stormwater Project Kickoff Meeting was held on Tuesday, 4/30, @ 6:00 with CSDG Engineering to review the site histories and to gather an understanding of the needs, wants, visions, and expectations for both sites.
  • Next Week
    • The Streets & Sanitation Committee will meet on Monday, 5/6, @ 9:00 am to review a contract for KCI Engineering for signalization upgrades along the bypass. 
    • The Finance Committee will meet again on Tuesday, 5/7, @ 4:00 to review budget proposals for the upcoming fiscal year.

POLICE 

  • This Week
    • May is observed as Motorcycle Awareness Month. Distracted driving has been linked to thousands of deaths each year. Stay mindful of the importance of safety and driving distraction-free to keep everyone safe on the road, including yourself. Remember to look twice a save a life. 
    • The Click It or Ticket Campaign will run the month of May. 
    • The Back to the Strip Event will be held this weekend. Please remember that all laws apply, including seatbelts. The motorcycle and bike patrols will be out along with our other patrol vehicles. Let’s be safe and enjoy this event. 
  • Next Week
    • Personnel are working on the annual report, accreditation tasks, and various additional trainings.

FIRE 

  • This Week
    • Sprayed and weed-eated around fire hydrants.
    • Firefighter physical agility test for a new hire firefighter.
    • Spring cleaning around both stations.

    • We will be spraying and weed-eating around fire hydrants.
    • Going to start our annual fire hydrant testing.
    • Will be spraying kids down at West Elementary School.

PARKS & RECREATION
  • This Week
    • Continued work on Gilley Pool for opening day
    • Mowing/prepping ballfields for baseball and softball games
    • McMinnville Swim Team practice at Gilley Pool
    • Met to discuss fall leagues
    • Had a meeting to discuss broadband services at parks
    • Conducted a walk thru at facilities for pre-insurance inspections

PARK THEATER

  • This Week
    • Exile: 60th Anniversary Tour | presented by On Fire Concerts | Thursday, May 2 @ 7 pm LIMITED TICKETS ARE STILL AVAILABLE!
      • Their most successful hit, “Kiss You All Over,” spent four weeks at the top of Billboard’s pop chart in 1978. In the early 1980s, Exile started to focus on country music. Exile has successfully had ten No. 1 singles and many more top 20s, which led to their induction into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame. The five original members of the band reformed in 2008 and continue to tour today. This performance will include special guest Lauren Lucas, an Academy of Country Music nominated recording artist and Tony Award-nominated songwriter, as the opening act.
    • Cannon Arts Dance Studio will present their 2024 Dance Recital, “Outta This World,” on Saturday, May 4.

WATER & WASTEWATER
  • This Week
    • Several service calls and locates.
    • Marked lines and checked services on Towles Ave.
    • Checked all pump stations in Water and Wastewater.
    • Mowed and trimmed all Water Dept properties.
    • Removed window and door at wash station at the Maintenance Dept.
    • Continued work on 202 Bell Building.
    • Hauled rock for stockpile at the shop.
    • Made ¾ water tap on South Chancery.
    • Repaired drain on Garfield.
    • TV of sewer lines on Winding Way.
    • Read meters on 5/2/24
    • Located 20” water line on Viola Hwy for building project.
    • Washed basin # 1 at the Water Plant.
    • Changed Hub and coupling on Aerator # 1 at Wastewater.
    • Cleaned raw water sample pump at Wastewater.
    • Rainfall for April 24 was 5.03 inches recorded at the Water Plant
    • Finished washing the chemical tank at the Water Plant.
    • Met about inventory at the shop.
  • Next Week
    • Collect Chlorine bi-product samples.
    • Work on service line replacement on Towles Ave.
    • Wash basin # 2 at the Water Plant.

PUBLIC WORKS 
  • This Week
    • Formed and Poured sidewalk on Garfield St. 
    • Mowed some of the right of way (ROW) around town. 
    • We have been putting down some stop bars at intersections. 
    • Installed culverts for customers. 
    • Cleaned out some ditches. 
  • Next Week
    • Will be working on the sidewalk on Garfield St. 
    • Install drain culvert on Garfield St.
    • We’ll still be mowing ROWs. 
    • Will be putting more stop bars down at intersections.
