ADMINISTRATION 

  • This Week
    • The Streets & Sanitation Committee met on Monday, 5/6, at 9:00 a.m. to review a contract for KCI Engineering to upgrade signalization along the bypass. 
    • The Finance Committee met on Tuesday, 5/7, @ 4:00 to review budget proposals for the upcoming fiscal year. 
    • Severe weather on Wednesday evening led to several instances of flooding throughout town on Wednesday evening and Thursday. The river has been rising all day and is expected to continue to rise overnight into tomorrow morning before receding tomorrow afternoon.
  • Next Week
    • Water & Wastewater Committee and Board of Mayor & Aldermen meetings will be held on Tuesday, 5/14.

POLICE 

  • This Week
    • We appreciate everyone’s efforts in having a successful Back to the Strip Event.
    • Tips can be given by calling the criminal investigation division at 931-473-3386. If no one answers, you may leave a message, and you may also remain anonymous if you wish. 
    • This week, new police radios obtained through grant efforts were put into service. They will be an excellent resource for our community. 
  • Next Week
    • Personnel will attend various trainings and events. 

FIRE 

  • This Week
    • Completed our annual flow tests on the SCBA (air packs).
    • On Friday, we will spray down kids at West Elementary.
    • Completed several fire inspections around town.
    • Completed an ISO workshop online.
  • Next Week
    • We will begin our annual flow tests on all fire hydrants.
    • Having a station tour from Eastside School.
    • Going Saturday to the Milner Center to spray down runners for the fun run.

PARKS & RECREATION
  • This Week
    • Continued work on Gilley Pool for opening day
    • Mowing/prepping ballfields for baseball and softball games
    • McMinnville Swim Team practice at Gilley Pool
    • McMinnville Special Games- May  11th at Milner Center
    • Met with the Project Graduation committee

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
  • This Week
    • Held Planning Commission Meeting – A preliminary plat for 10 lots was approved.
    • Attendance of the finance committee budget meeting
    • Prepared for the upcoming BOMA meeting

    • Attendance of the BOMA meeting
    • Begin updating the ADA transition plan.
    • Working on Zoning and Subdivision changes

WATER & WASTEWATER
  • This Week
    • Checked all pump stations.
    • Several service calls and locates.
    • Cutoffs for non-pay on 5.9.24.
    • Cut concrete from vault lid at Oriole Drive.
    • Painted back wall at Water Maintenance.
    • Checked sewer mains throughout the City.
    • Mowed and trimmed all Water Properties.
    • Ran extra hours at the Water Plant due to weather conditions.
    • The rainfall total for the week was 5.9 inches.
    • Cleaned clarifier # 1 at wastewater.
    • Cleaned raw water sample pump at wastewater.
    • Flushed dead-end lines in the system.
  • Next Week
    • Change oil in the screw pumps and aerators.
    • Follow up on sewer mains being flooded.
    • Make water a sewer taps for Red Road.

PUBLIC WORKS 
  • This Week
    • Formed and poured sidewalk on Garfield St. 
    • Installed some culverts on Garfield Street. 
    • Mowed ROWs 
    • Cleaned storm drains. 
    • Put down more stop bars at intersections. 
    • Pulled forms off of the sidewalk on College St. 
  • Next Week
    • Working on the sidewalk on Garfield St. 
    • Mowing ROWs. 
    • Will be putting more stop bars down at intersections.
