ADMINISTRATION 

  • This Week
    • City offices were closed on Monday, 5/27/24, for Memorial Day. 
    • The Board of Mayor & Aldermen meeting was held on Tuesday, 5/28. Our budget was passed on final reading!  
    • A staff meeting was held on Wednesday, 5/29.
  • Next Week
    • I (Nolan Ming) will meet with several department directors for our monthly 1:1 meetings.
    • Meeting with Wendy Sneed, IDB Director.

POLICE 

  • This Week
    • Tips can be given by calling the criminal investigation division at 931-473-3386. If no one answers, you may leave a message, and you may remain anonymous if you wish. 
    • Worked on grant opportunities including the preparation of grant closing for the fiscal year. 
  • Next Week
    • Officer training in specific and specialized areas is being scheduled. 
    • Curriculum research for program integration with local school-age students and groups. 

FIRE 

  • This Week
    • Congratulations to Fire Fighter Ian DeArmond and Fire Fighter Chris Kepley for passing their Fire Fighter 1 live burn class!
    • Congratulations to Engineer / EMT Caleb Barnes for passing his online fitness training for the Fire Department!
    •  Still doing fire hydrant flow testing
    •  Sign off on certificates of use and occupancy
    •  This Saturday we will help with the Tunnel to Towers run/walk at the high school
  • Next Week
    • We will continue fire hydrant testing.
    • Hunting for upcoming grants.
    • Giving a station tour to students from the Middle School.

PARKS & RECREATION
  • This Week
    • Gilley Pool opened this past holiday weekend.  Saturday 5/25 = 570 admissions, Sunday 5/26= 346 admissions, Monday 5/27= 1,012 admissions
    • McMinnville Youth Baseball and Softball summer leagues are ongoing.
    • Water aerobics began this week.
    • Park usage has picked up due to the pretty weather.
  • Next Week
    • Kids Camp begins.
    • McMinnville Youth Baseball and Softball summer league tournaments begin.

    • BOMA Meeting
    • Met with several developers for potential projects.
    • Preparation for the upcoming Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, and Historic Zoning Commission meetings

WATER & WASTEWATER
  • This Week
    • Ran several service calls and locates.
    • Checked all Pump Stations.
    • Mowed and trimmed water dept properties.
    • Replaced a ¾ water service on Center Street.
    • Repaired a 4-inch sewer service on Rebel Hill.
    • Worked on set up for a washer and dryer hook up at wastewater.
    • Clean and Vac pump stations.
    • Started service line replacements needed on Towles Ave.
    • Met with an engineer on planning rehab of Hobbs Park Pump Station.
    • Attended zoom meeting on lead line inventory and rules.
  • Next Week
    • Continue replacing galvanized services as needed on Towles Ave.

PUBLIC WORKS 
  • This Week
    • Dugout and set forms and poured concrete for the sidewalks on Garfield St. 
    • Mowed ROWs. 
    • Worked on some stormwater problems we had during the flood.  
    • Formed and poured a headwall for a customer. 
    • Cut trees out of the ROWs. 
    • Worked on some work orders. 
  • Next Week
    • Pouring concrete for the sidewalk on Garfield St. 
    • Mowing ROWs. 
    • Continue working on some flooding problems we have.
