ADMINISTRATION 

  • This Week
    • I (Nolan Ming) met with several department directors for our monthly 1:1 meetings.
    • Met with Wendy Sneed, Industrial Development Board Director.

    • Board of Mayor & Aldermen meetings to be held on Tuesday, 6/11.
    • I will attend the TDOT Center Hill Rural Planning Organization meeting in Cookeville on Tuesday, 6/11.

POLICE 

  • This Week
    • Tips can be given by calling the criminal investigation division at 931-473-3386. If no one answers, you may leave a message, and you may remain anonymous if you wish. 
    • Officers have been working at many events around the city, including Park Theater events. 
    • Tunnels to Towers was a successful event despite the weather. It was great to see everyone come together for the cause. 
  • Next Week
    • Officer trainings in specific and specialized areas are being scheduled. 
    • Work on grant submissions for some equipment and technology. 

FIRE 

  • This Week
    • Still doing fire hydrant testing
    • Went to Beersheba Tower to help unload some boxes of commodities from UCHRA
    • Completed various repairs at both stations
    • Todd Ratley's last day with the fire department is this Friday. He is taking a new job with the Tennessee Firefighter Commission.
    • Completed a station tour for the middle school
  • Next Week
    • We will finish up with the fire hydrant testing.

PARKS & RECREATION
  • This Week
    • Good week at the Gilley Pool. Rain has caused the numbers to be down a little.
    • Kids Camp summer program has had a good first week.
    • Working on bid specifications for several projects.
    • Continuing maintenance on soccer fields.
    • Mowing athletic fields and prepping for league games.
    • Security Federal Tennis Tournament begins Thurs. June 6th.
  • Next Week
    • We are hosting a state tournament for 9 to 10-year-olds on June 20th, 21st, and 22nd at Dottie West and Sam Martin fields.
    • 4th of July Downtown Celebration- July 4th on Main Street.
    • Independence Day Freedom Fest Celebration- July 4th at the Milner Center complex. Festivities start at 5 p.m., and fireworks start at 9 p.m.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
  • This Week
    • Board of Zoning Appeals Meeting – Approved a special exception for 10 units on Mullican and Hobson St
    • Planning Commission Meeting – Two preliminary plats for subdivisions were approved in City Limits and a final plat in the Planning Region
    • Main St McMinnville Board Meeting 
    • Meeting with Wendy Sneed with IDB
    • Met with several developers for potential projects.
    • Preparation for the upcoming BOMA meeting

WATER & WASTEWATER
  • This Week
    • Multiple service calls and some locates.
    • Removed leaking 4” hydrant on College Steet.
    • Replaced hydrant on Hill and High Street.
    • TV sewer main on Towles Ave.
    • Repaired 2-inch water leak on Pinecrest.
    • Worked on Inventory at the shop.
    • Installed water heater and washer and dryer outlets at Wastewater.
    • Hauled gravel for stockpile.
    • Mowed water dept properties.
    • Checked pump stations.
    • Normal maintenance at Water and Wastewater plants.
    • Wastewater Plant Tour for Fleming Training Center 6.6.24.
    • Continued lead service line inventory.
  • Next Week
    • We will work on the sewer line on Towles Ave and other streets for the paving list.
    • Continue inventory count.
    • Continue lead service line inventory.

PUBLIC WORKS 
  • This Week
    • Dugout and set forms and poured concrete for the sidewalks on Garfield St. 
    • Mowed ROWs. 
    • Worked on some stormwater problems we had during the flood.  
    • Formed and poured a headwall for a customer. 
    • Cut trees out of the ROWs. 
    • Worked on some work orders. 
  • Next Week
    • Pouring concrete for the sidewalk on Garfield St. 
    • Mowing ROWs. 
    • Continue working on some flooding problems we have.
