      • Music Starts: 7 PM
      • Prepare for an electrifying night of music, talent, and community spirit! Our local bands are going head-to-head for a chance to win a $500 grand prize! 
      • How Battle of the Bands will be judged: Audience Voting: $1 = 1 vote. The band that raises the most funds wins! All proceeds go towards downtown improvement grants.
      • Each band will have 20 minutes to showcase their talent! Come be a part of this unforgettable event! Enjoy live music, support our talented musicians, and help revitalize downtown McMinnville.
    • I (Nolan Ming) worked on setting up a system that allows us to understand the needs, concerns, and our residents' overall sentiments to help us provide the best service and make the best decisions for McMinnville.
    • Committee and Board of Mayor & Aldermen meetings were held on Tuesday, 6/25.
    • Staff meeting held on Wednesday, 6/26.
    • Met with Parks & Rec and Community Development to review a new Food Truck policy related to Food Trucks on City property. 
    • Responded to several citizen inquiries.

    • City offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Thursday's garbage route will be done on Friday, 7/5.

    • Tips can be given by calling the criminal investigation division at 931-473-3386. If no one answers, you may leave a message and remain anonymous if you wish. 
    • Officers visited local school and daycare groups to talk about safety and other topics. 
  • Next Week
    • We will continue accepting school supply donations for our 3rd Annual Battle of the Badges Game on August 1st. Please drop off donations at the City Hall Building, 3rd Floor. Drop off hours between 7 am - 5 pm M-F.

    • Completed all fireworks tent inspections.
    • We helped the Police Dept with the yellow dot programs sign-up at the senior citizens center.
    • We attend a tabletop emergency drill on Thursday at the airport.
    • We sprayed down kids at the middle school on Thursday.
    • We received some new equipment in for our new fire truck.
  • Next Week
    • Everyone needs to be careful when lighting fireworks. Be sure to have some water source close by.
    • Be careful when burning outside and lighting fireworks. Its getting dry.
    • Everyone have a Happy and safe 4th of July.

    • Working on bid specification for tennis court renovation.
    • Big thanks to the maintenance staff for giving Rocket Park Clubhouse a fresh look. It has new paint, caulk, and trim, and we put a new metal roof on it this year. It looks great!
    • We are finalizing 4th of July Downtown vendors and activities.
    • We are taking late registrations for fall soccer sign-ups until Sunday,  June 30th.
    • We are taking summer soccer camp registrations now until Sunday, June 30th.
    • Poll went out identifying five possible projects in Parks and Recreation that will direct us to which grants to apply for in the future.  Great survey responses! Click HERE to participate!

    • Milner Center will be closed on Thursday, July 4th.
    • The Gilley Pool will be open Thursday, July 4th, from 10 am to 6 pm.
    • 4th of July Downtown Celebration- July 4th on Main Street.
    • Independence Day Freedom Fest Celebration- July 4th at the Milner Center complex.  Festivities are at 5 pm, and fireworks are at 9 pm.

    • Finalizing regulations regarding Mobile Food Vendors (food trucks)
    • Met with several developers for potential projects.

    • Continued lead and copper service line inventory.
    • Checked all water and sewer pump stations.
    • Replaced 2 bleach line connections at the water plant.
    • Lots of work on inventory.
    • Worked with the paving contractor on the paving project on 202 Bell parking lot.
    • Attended City retirement meetings.
    • Mowed the water dept properties as needed.
    • Normal maintenance at both water and wastewater facilities.
    • Collected certified samples.
    • Flushed dead end lines.
    • Tv’d sewer line on Beersheba Street.
    • Raised fire hydrant on Garfield for sidewalk work.
    • Inventory at 202 Bell Street.
    • Tinsley finished paving at 202 Bell on 6.26.2024.
  • Next Week
    • Drain and clean the digester basin at the wastewater plant.
    • We will be installing new water and sewer taps for contractors.


  • This Week
    • Contacted 811 to start the sidewalks on the south side of Garfield St. 
    • Mowed and sprayed ROWs. 
    • Continued working on some stormwater problems.  
    • Worked on some work orders.  
    • Cleaned some storm grates around town for the much-needed rain. 
    • Repaired the sidewalk at 601 North Chancery Street.

    • Dig out and pour concrete for the sidewalk on Garfield St. 
    • Work on work orders that come in. 
    • Mowing and spraying ROWs.
