    • I (Nolan Ming) continued working on setting up a system that allows us to understand our residents' needs, concerns, and overall sentiments, helping us provide the best service for McMinnville.
    • I responded to several citizen inquiries.

POLICE 

  • This Week
    • Tips can be given by calling the criminal investigation division at 931-473-3386. If no one answers, you may leave a message and remain anonymous if you wish. 
    • With fireworks and celebrations come loud noises, get-togethers, and heavier traffic. Remember that there are ordinances in place for the festivities surrounding fireworks use. Being respectful, responsible, and safe can allow us to enjoy this special time of year. Please call 931-473-3808 for any specific questions. The police department will be closed on Thursday, July 4th. Officers can be reached 24/7 via non-emergency contact at 931-668-7000.

    • We will continue accepting school supply donations for our 3rd Annual Battle of the Badges Game on August 1st. Please drop off donations at the City Hall Building, 3rd Floor. Drop off hours between 7 am - 5 pm M-F.

PARKS & RECREATION

  • This Week
    • The 4th of July Downtown Celebration went well.  Rene Alvarez - Great job!
    • Big thanks to Katie Smartt and the Gilley Pool staff. For the second time this summer, we received a 100% on the Health Inspection.
    • Clean up from the fireworks and festivities on the grounds.  Thank you, maintenance staff, for all your hard work.
    • Pool rentals the 5th, 6th, and 7th.  Busy weekend.
  • Next Week
    • Kids Camp starts back up after a week off.
    • Meeting with TWRA over boat ramp improvement at Rocket Park.
    • Mandatory site visit for Tennis Court renovation.
    • Continuing to work on bid specs for wellness equipment, pool features, lights, and a dock lift at the park theater.
    • Continuing to work on grant opportunities.

    • Preparation for the Planning Commission Meeting
    • BOMA Meeting where two events were approved: Sip and Saveur and the Farm to Table Event
    • Finalizing regulations regarding Mobile Food Vendors (food trucks)
    • Met with several developers for potential projects.
    • Updates to the Department page of the city website

WATER & WASTEWATER

  • This Week
    • Drained and cleaned the digester basin at the wastewater plant.
    • Several service calls and locates.
    • Continued lead and copper service line inventory.
    • Checked all water and sewer pump stations.
    • Normal maintenance at both water and wastewater facilities.
    • Collected certified samples.
    • TV’d sewer line on Oriole Drive.
    • Replaced a water service line on Lakeshore Drive.
    • Replaced a water service line on Old Morrison Road.
    • Repaired a water service line on Dogwood Point.
  • Next Week
    • We will be installing new water and sewer taps for contractors.

PUBLIC WORKS 

  • This Week
    • Started on the sidewalks on the south side of Garfield St. 
    • Mowed and sprayed ROWs.  
    • Worked on some work orders. 
    • Sprayed for mosquitos. 
    • Set barricades up town to get ready for the 4th.

    • Dig out and pour concrete for the sidewalk on Garfield St.
