Administration 

  • This Week
    • I (Nolan Ming) worked on the upcoming budget.
    • I tracked several different items impacting municipalities that are moving through the State legislative process.
    • I met with several community members about different issues.
    • I met with consultants and engineers on several potential projects.
    • I worked on updating the Animal Control Ordinance. 
  • Next Week
    • Committee and Board of Mayor & Aldermen meetings to be held on Tuesday, 3/26. 
    • Staff meeting to be held on Wednesday.
    • City offices will be closed on Friday, 3/29, in observance of Good Friday. 
    • I will continue to collaborate with several departments, organizations, and representatives as we work on our upcoming budget.

Police 

  • This Week
    • Be safe and be seen! As the days get longer we see more people out exercising and enjoying the extended daylight hours. If participating in these activities, please keep in mind that appropriate visibility is key. Carrying a flashlight and reflective clothing is beneficial. As a driver, please keep in mind that more people are out and about and stay alert of your surroundings.

    • Personnel are preparing for Teen Citizen Police Academy, which will start April 1st.

Fire 

  • This Week
    • Deputy Chief Marty White is at TFACA for his Firefighter Three commission class.
    • All shifts completed a pre-plan and walkthrough at the Warren County Jail.
    • Worked on the upcoming budget.

    • All shifts will be doing their EMR/EMT recertification on Wednesday and Thursday.

    • Repairing the water line to the bathroom and concession stand.

Park Theater 

The Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder concert on Saturday evening was our THIRD sell-out in the last two weeks! Ricky and his band put on a really great show for everyone and we had lots of out-of-towners visiting McMinnville to see the show! We heard lots of compliments for our local dining options, beautiful community, and friendly people. Thanks to everyone who made this show (and all of our shows) possible and thanks to everyone who attended!

    • Preparation for the Historic Zoning, Board of Zoning Appeals, Planning Commission, and BOMA meetings.
    • Numerous inspections
    • Met with a developer for a property on E. Main St.

Water & Wastewater 

  • This Week
    • The roofing contractors are finishing up the roof installation but still need to install termination bars, facial boards, and some gutter work.
    • Several service calls and locates.
    • Read meters.
    • Counted and measured for manholes and valve boxes for paving.
    • Worked at Milner Center installing valves to isolate a water leak.
    • Cutoffs for non-pays. 3/19/24.
    • Installed 2- ¾ water service on Moss Dr.
    • Installed a 4-inch sewer service on Moss Dr.
    • Vacuumed storm drain on Caldwell Street.
    • Replaced a meter stop on Bratton Street.
    • Anchored the shaft on the oxidation ditch aerator # 1.
  • Next Week
    • Replace a coupling on ditch aerator # 1 at Wastewater.
    • Clean clarifier
    • Installing 4-inch meter service.
Public Works 

  • This Week
    • Worked at City Hall. 
    • Patched water cuts. 
    • Finished the planters downtown. 
    • Worked on the water fountain. 
    • Tinsley started paving city streets. 
    • CHC installed the HVAC unit. 
  • Next Week
    • Continue patching water cuts around town. 
    • Tinsley will be in town paving. 
    • It’s that time of year to start mowing, so please be careful when you see our mowers.
